Re: Assesment Foster Care & SGO

If you send me a pm I can help you calculate roughly how much SGO allowance you would be entitled to. I wouldnt trust the local authorities explanation of what the income level should be. Its always useful to have an idea of how much allowance you would get so you are going into this fully informed ...

Re: Assesment Foster Care & SGO

we hope in time the parents who are a couple and doing everything they need to do to have their baby home, we don't expect this to happen in the time frame being asked of them but we do perhaps in the next couple of years This could have an impact on the granting of SGO or even fostering if it beca...

Hi Inkyfriend and welcome to the board.

SGO allowance is reassesed yearly. After all you might win the Euromillions :D

I would be asking for a guarantee that, subject to you passing a means test, SGO allowance will be guaranteed until the child is 18.

Re: advice needed.

ss have now told me they need to get a tempory ro in place asap, Be very cautious about this 'temporary' RO. Once any kind of order that gives you PR is granted it gives the local authority the chance to walk away leaving you to it. Telling carers to get RO's is a standard trick, dont fall for it. ...

Re: Looked after Child??

I personally think you are barking up the wrong tree with the LAC thing. RO allowance is discretionary because thats what it says in the leglislation. You would have to challenge the legislation to change that but at you are already getting the allowance I dont see much point. I think the case you a...

Re: Looked after Child??

Hello Confusedinfrance. I have to say the issue of whether the child is or isnt LAC at the moment is irrelevent. With a RO in force the child cannot be LAC now and the previous legal status really has little to do with it. If the child was under SGO it might be a different fish. Im intrigued as to w...

Re: Re Return of an old Sibling Carer advice please?

Congratulations on your SGO. Hopefully SS will stick to what they have agreed and life for you and your sister can find some sort of normality now.

I finally got my SGO last September after a long battle, its amazing how much difference that little piece of paper makes. Enjoy, :)

Re: xmas hols

I think ignore her, shes wrong in saying you cant take her. She of course has the option of applying to the court to prevent you taking child away but she will need a very good reason for the court to entertain that. I cant see her bothering to go that far to be honest. Let her keep on 'playing her ...
