Join 1500 strong from Around the Globe in A Call to Action to Change Child Welfare

Since early 2020, the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic shined a light on health disparities, poverty, and societal inequities. In May, global protests awakened our collective and universal consciousness of systemic and institutional racism. Around the globe, it has been a period of action and social connection as well as a call for intense equality and fairness. The resulting turmoil has ignited a period of reflection—and creates space for us to create a redemptive narrative for child welfare.

That is why The Kempe Center is hosting this conference—A Call to Action to Change Child Welfare, from October 5-8, 2020. For 17 hours per day, with over 250+ sessions, speakers from 13+ countries, and diverse and engaging learning formats—multi-media, conversation circles, workshops, discussion groups, opening and closing sessions—we will maximize our international exchange and showcase new, radical, alternative, and transformational ideas.

Join 1500 from around the world to re-envision child welfare. We will tackle issues of oppression, family leadership, child and youth participation, othering, racial equity, fairness, poverty, and injustice, all in the quest to develop solutions that will benefit children, families and communities. We will build an international community of practice, create connections and relationships, encourage curiosity and challenge traditional structures and ideas.
