Lifelong Links Development Officer
Full time (35 hours per week) (Fixed term contract until April 2020)
PO4 £37,107 - £39,961 plus £3,650 London weighting.
Lifelong Links is a new approach in the UK which aims to build lasting relationships for children in the care system for whom there is no plan for them to live within their family or be adopted.

The Lifelong Links model includes tools and techniques for professionals to use to search for and find family members and other adults who care about the child. This network is then brought together in a family group conference (FGC) to make a life-long support plan with, and for, the child, which should be integrated into their care and pathway plans.

A three year trial has already begun in seven authorities in England and three in Scotland. A further five authorities in England are now joining the trial.

We are recruiting one full-time Development Officer to work, primarily, with the English local authorities. Your role will be to support these localities to fully participate in the trial and then help roll out Lifelong Links to other interested local authorities and related organisations willing to introduce and sustain a Lifelong Links service.

You will have led or managed projects, trained practitioners and be an experienced, senior social worker and/or family group conference coordinator.

Family Rights Group (www.frg.org.uk) is a charity whose aims are to enable children to be raised safely and thrive within their family and community and to strengthen the positive family and community support networks of young people who cannot live with their parents. You will be committed to the objectives of Family Rights Group and Lifelong Links.

Location: You will be based in our office in Dalston, London and you will be expected to travel regularly to some of the trial sites.
