We are recruiting to a number of new roles to support Family Rights Group’s objectives and help ensure that the trial of Lifelong Links, an exciting new approach to building support networks for children in care, is successful and sustainable. The Lifelong Links model will provide tools and techniques for professionals to search for and find family members and other adults who care about the child. This network is then convened by a family group conference (FGC) to make a life-long support plan with, and for the young person.

Lifelong Links Development Officers
(3 posts at 35 hours and 1 post at 17.5 hours)
You will have led or managed projects and trained staff. You will be an experienced, senior child and family social worker and/or family group conference co-ordinator. You will have the expertise and knowledge to support the trial sites to effectively implement Lifelong Links. You will provide a coaching function to the local authority trial sites, deliver training and help the authorities to fulfil the project requirements.
You will be the first point of contact for local authorities and the evaluation team and will track delivery against milestones. You will support the Project Director and organise seminars, activities and events involving children and young people, families, practitioners and senior policy makers.
You will help to ensure the project runs smoothly. Your tasks will include booking venues, arranging travel, taking minutes of meetings including Steering Group meetings and undertaking other support functions.
All posts are on a three year fixed term contract and are funded by the Department for Education Innovation Programme.
