Avocacy for Families Involved With Social Services

Length: One day (or two days if provided in conjunction with course on child care law)

Working Together and the Guidance on the Children Act 1989 emphasise the importance of families working in partnership with social services. This course will explore the role of the advocate for the family in helping to promote a positive partnership, against the backdrop of the Children Acts 1989 and 2004, the Human Rights Act 1998 and child protection procedures. FRG has specialist expertise training advocates from black and minority ethnic community and voluntary organisations.

Course designed for: those already advising and advocating for families involved with social services and/or those who want to develop their advocacy skills in this field.
